Cupcakes

I had to pop in to share with you the 100 cupcakes I made the other day; cupcakes need to be share with the world, even if all that can be seen at the end is a few crumbs and a photograph or two.

 Yum!

Making the toppings and flowers.....

What else have I been cooking.....

Welsh Cakes for Karen....

Salmon nuggets rolled in crisps!

Chocolate loaf

Sesame marinated chicken stir fry with noodles and rice...

My favourite roasted artichoke salad with Parmesan....

Sesame chicken salad

Scallops and pan fried greens with an artichoke heart

Still on budget, still sticking to the plan!   Uh...except for those cupcakes of course.....

Be back soon!

I'm pretty sure I've dreamt of mass amounts of pink frosted cupcakes before. Helen, have you been sneaking into my dreams at night?

Yummy yummy yummy! Pink is such a lovey color and I bet they taste wonderful. That chocolate loaf looks pretty good too.

These look fantastic! You have been busy, thanks for visiting my blog and commenting on my hippy pic, I know you don't have much time, so it is really appreciated.

That. Is a LOT of cupcakes. Very impressive :-)

The chicken stir-fry and the scallops look really good. I haven't done a stir-fry in ages because I got sick of always doing the one recipe that the kids would eat. They've become more adventurous recently, I should try something new on them.

The cupcakes are seriously pretty!! Nice decorations....and you made 100. Wow.
All of the other food looks to die for. The artichoke dish is something I know I would love as well as the Sesame Chicken Salad.
I really enjoy your blog! Good stuff.

Those cupcakes look devine! I honestly can't say that I've ever baked 100 cupcakes at one time- what were you making them for? (That's a lot of cupcakes even for two parents and three kids!) :)

Brittany, they come out of your dreams and into my own! Wait...isn't that an old song...? ;O)

Shelley, thank you! The loaf was nice...a bit odd...isn't that a funny thing to say about a chocolate cake but maybe it was the lack of icing.

Janice, I was so glad I did; now I have that image of you, that is how I see you! ;O)

mimbles, I found that by marinating the chicken in 2 parts soy sauce to 1 part sesame oil and a squeeze of lemon juice for 30 minutes beforehand that the chicken cooked really quickly and tasted gorgeous. The kids loved it...I was so delighted because, like yours, they don't go for too many stir fry recipes and I love them.

obladi, thanks hon...I'm going to make more today just because! ;O)

Beth, thank you! although my husband said that the salad was where sesame seeds go to die...I did overdo them a tiny bit.... ;O)

Shana, they were little chunks of salmon cut from a fillet, dipped in a beaten egg and rolled in, on this occasion, a packet of ready salted crisps (chips) which had previously been bashed with a rolling pin. They were then cooked in the oven for approx. 6 minutes I think. Always have a tester nugget for yourself! ;O)

Catherine, that's really nice of you, thank you. x

confused homemaker, you know you are welcome anytime! :O)

Christina, thank you, it was so much fun.

Virginia Mom, *L*...they were for the opening of a spa. We did get to try them out though.... ;O)

It all looks yummy (as usual) but those cupcakes are kind of spectacular. Why so many? Is this a new business venture? If not, maybe you should consider it - they certainly look professional enough to sell.

You never said what the 100 cupcakes were for. They are lovely.

I did a food page article on Wales once and made Welsh cakes. They are pretty yummy,a big hit at my house.

I was inspired to try a noodle stir fry - udon with pork fillet, onion, red capsicum, baby corn and sugar snap peas in oyster sauce - it was pretty good and the kids ate quite well. A veritable success!

There's a little something waiting for you over at my place.

100 cupcakes? awesome! how'd u get the pink icing totally flat? did u drizzle it?

Helen McGinn said...

Scrappysue, it was butter icing from an icing bag, drizzled icing, made runny and poured on top and royal icing, cut out with a cutter. :O)
