Friday Night Dinner

Tonight, my friends will be coming round for the following:
I think it's fair to say I'm looking forward to it.   Now, before you ask....I didn't do this on a budget; entertaining and entertainment is an entirely different budget altogether.   The scallops were bought from the lovely fishmongers in Glasgow, the chicken is free range and the champagne, cold!   Everyone needs to go all out once in a while, don't you think?   I'll be posting pictures and the recipes, all going well!
Cheers!

Canapes & French Martinis
Butternut Squash Soup with Girolles & Griddled Scallops
Pesto Chicken Roulade
with a white wine and mustard cream sauce,
mashed potato and crispy courgettes, leeks and carrots
Chocolate Marquis (mousse type cake)
Camembert topped with caramelised pecans and oatcakes
Coffee served with homemade peppermints dipped in a variety of chocolate, caramel and toasted coconut

Champagne

Oh Helen....Have a really great time. I love hanging out with my friends at home too! I can't wait to hear all about it and see pics of your company and good times.

Take pictures of the food too! That's my favorite part.

I seriously need to stop reading your blog in the hour before I have dinner. Reading your lovely menu while hungry is just a bad idea!
Your menu looks great and I hope you and your friends have a great night!
I think anyone who works so hard at budgeting for their family has literally earned a night of treats!

Wow- sounds like it's gonna be a great party! (Can you Fed Ex me a plate of that wonderful sounding food?) :) The lady who does our taxes has a daughter who is over in Glasgow studying opera voice... small world! (I can't begin to imagine what that education is costing!)
